Level One: The Pursuit translates the original artwork into a wearable edition.
Inspired by Harriet Tubman, this design captures the moment of movement when stopping was never an option. Rendered in an 8-bit, side-scrolling visual language, Ms. Tubman advances forward as ghost-like figures pursue from behind, symbolizing the constant threat of white supremacist violence during her missions south.
The black ground reflects danger, concealment, and the unknown. This is the chapter of the story defined by urgency and resolve where progress itself becomes resistance.
This wearable edition allows the narrative to live beyond the canvas, transforming history into something carried, seen, and remembered.

Ms. Tubman: The Game Title T-Shirt
This t-shirt features the official title graphic from Ms. Tubman: The Game, printed across the chest and paired with an 8-bit Harriet Tubman character illuminated by her lantern.
Set on a black field, the design reads like a classic title screen where darkness frames direction, and light signals movement.
The ghosts behind Harriet appear as echoes rather than obstacles. They acknowledge history, but they do not control the outcome. The rules are already established: forward motion wins.
As a t-shirt, this piece functions as the most accessible entry point into the Ms. Tubman: The Game universe — a wearable title card that carries the narrative into everyday space.

This hoodie features the official title graphic from Ms. Tubman: The Game, printed across the chest and paired with an 8-bit Harriet Tubman character illuminated by her lantern.
On the black colorway, the title reads like an opening screen set against darkness — where light becomes direction and movement becomes intention.
The ghosts trailing behind Harriet are rendered as remnants, not threats. Their presence acknowledges history, but their inability to stop her defines the rules of the game.
This piece functions as the core title screen of the Ms. Tubman: The Game universe — stripped down, grounded, and definitive.
A foundational wearable for the series, designed to anchor the collection and establish the visual language moving forward.

This hoodie features the official title graphic from Ms. Tubman: The Game, rendered across the chest and paired with an 8-bit Harriet Tubman character illuminated by her lantern.
The title functions as the game’s opening screen — the moment before movement begins.
Set against a soft pink colorway, the piece reframes tenderness as strength. The color choice is intentional: pink is often associated with softness or vulnerability, but here it becomes a counterpoint to fear signaling care, resolve, and humanity in the face of violence.
The ghosts trailing behind Harriet appear powerless, reduced to remnants rather than threats. She moves forward illuminated, not rushed — establishing the rules of the game before the first level even begins.
This hoodie serves as the entry point into the Ms. Tubman: The Game universe a wearable title card that announces the journey ahead.

This hoodie represents a collectible item within Ms. Tubman: The Game.
Centered on the chest is an 8-bit Harriet Tubman twenty-dollar bill graphic, wrapped in a $2,000 band sticker a direct reference to the historical bounty once placed on Harriet Tubman for her capture.
The amount is intentional.
The $2,000 figure reflects the documented reward offered to stop her work here transformed from a tool of pursuit into an object of remembrance and reversal.
In the language of the game, this piece functions like a collectible power-up — similar to the boot in Ms. Pac-Man. In real history, it represents the cost placed on freedom.
Rendered in pixel form and set against an orchid colorway, the hoodie reframes a moment of threat into a preserved artifact — something to be collected, worn, and recontextualized.
Part of an ongoing series by Akio Evans, this piece expands the world of Ms. Tubman: The Game beyond apparel into narrative objects.

Ms. Tubman: The Game — Running Toward Freedom
This wearable art piece was inspired by my dream received at 3:00am on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Haint blue is a color rooted in Gullah Geechee and Southern Black traditions, historically used to protect homes, doorways, and thresholds from harmful spirits known as “haints.”
Painted on porch ceilings, window frames, and doors, haint blue was believed to confuse or repel spirits, preventing them from crossing into protected spaces.
In Ms. Tubman: The Game, haint blue becomes both environment and armor.
It represents a threshold — the space between danger and safety, captivity and freedom, past and future. By placing Harriet Tubman against this field, the work reframes pursuit as illusion. The figures behind her appear as ghosts because they no longer hold power. They cannot cross what has already been protected.
Haint blue transforms the scene from escape to inevitability not running away, but moving forward through guarded space.
